Prefer web interfaces for analysis tools and access to data
Web interfaces are controlled through one point making them
easier to deploy and upgrade than stand alone applications.
Provide HTML interfaces for easy viewing by end users
Probe XML or text access to large volumes of data
Returning XML data from a web interface lets a developer write
programs that send large volumes of data to a site for analysis
get the return and send it to other sites for more analysis.
This has a drawback of using large amounts of network bandwidth.
Example:
GC Content Calculator
Enter sequence
Upload file of FASTA sequences
Return output as XML
